Mini Blue Gum Original Artwork

Experimentation with colour is one of my favourite things in the world. In this piece I have applied my expressionist style to Australian Botanicals, using a colour palette I discovered in an exhibition exploring Machu Picchu. A collision of cultures! The colour palette was inspired by an ancient type of abacus that was constructed of fine cotton threads in these muted colours created from natural ingredients such as indigo plants and bark from trees. 

This is a study for a large piece of work, using repetition and overlapping abstract representation of flora from around the world.
