Golden Hour Original Artwork

Golden Hour is an homage to my favourite time of day — and my favourite time to paint — when the sun is setting, the light turns golden, and there’s a beautiful warmth on your skin.

This artwork features a towering eucalypt that has been cheekily tattooed by scribbly gum larvae, which later become Ogmograptis moths. Beneath the tree is a tapestry of wildflowers, seedpods, palms and native grasses, bringing the landscape to life with layers of Australian flora.

The intricate markings on the bark inspired the earthy, neutral colour palette of terracotta, wheat, gold, milk chocolate and charcoal.

Golden Hour also has a rectangular sister painting, Scribbly Gum Lane.
